With the EU support training in environmental protection and Disaster Risk Reduction has been conducted in Khulo municipality

27 November 2019, Khulo – Training in environmental protection and Disaster Risk Reduction has been conducted in Khulo municipality. Training was attendance by representatives from Khulo Municipality natural disaster risk department, Khulo Emergency Management Service, specialists from adjoining fields and other interested stakeholders. In total, 15 participants attended the training. Main aim of the training was: to determine the causes of climate change and natural risk disasters and identify the ways to solve those problems. The training was conducted by Diana Egiazarova

‘’Training was very interesting. I have learnt many new information about different issues, which will be very useful in implementation process of my professional work’’ – Noted Roman Shantadze, specialist of Khulo municipality reclamation service.

Training has been conducted in very active regime. Participants shared practical experience in context of Khulo municipality. Trainer provide theoretical justification in every practical case shared during the training. Several issues were reviewed in detail during the training: (1) Environmental protection and climate change, (2) Natural hazards, (3) Legal basis of emergency services, (4) Management of emergency services. With theoretical information trainer provided practical activities to ensure transformation of theoretical knowledge into practical usage.

‘’It is very important to take into consideration local context when we talk about natural hazards. Khulo municipality is very active zone in this case and it is very important to conduct such informative trainings and meetings to raise awareness around the subject’’ – said trainer – Diana Egiazarova.
