On 23-25 April, 2018, with the support of EU, Croatian Rural Development Network (HMRR) together with PMC RC expert conducted workshops for working group for Local Development Strategy (LDS) elaboration in Khulo, Adjara.
The objectives of the workshop were to present the outline of LDS, its finalized elements and confirm next steps, to present overview of state of municipality by priority themes, to define developmental problems of the LAG territory, prioritize them and choose key/priority developmental issues, to prepare Action Plan for follow-up activities.

Participants learned how prioritize the problems, selected the priority directions based on which the goals and objectives of the strategy should be determined.
On the third day within the framework of the visit HMRR experts conducted training on “Introduction to the project proposal writing – from idea to project”. Goals of the training were to introduce project thinking and project planning, to introduce project cycle management, to develop draft project ideas for the next workshop, to prepare action plan for follow-up activities. Training participants had a discussion to identify possible project ideas to be elaborated at the next workshop.
The workshops were held in the framework of the EU funded European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD).
The EU is supporting agriculture and rural development in Georgia through its ENPARD Programme. Implemented since 2013 with a total budget of EUR 179.5 million, the main goal of ENPARD is to reduce rural poverty in Georgia. The first phase of ENPARD in Georgia focused on developing the potential of agriculture.
