Memorandum of Understandging (MoU) has been signed between Caritas Czech Republic in Georgia and the the Ministry of Agriculture of Adjara A/R. The MoU foresees collaboration between parties in rural development activities.

On 4thof June, 2019, the Parties agreed, to be guided by regional and national interests, and Rural Development Strategy and Action Plan of Adjara A/R and Khulo municipality. The Parties shall promote and develop cooperation on an equal basis, to their mutual benefit and advantage. The MoU is initiated in the framework of the project “Rural Development and Diversification in Khulo Municipality”.

The EU is supporting agriculture and rural development in Georgia through its ENPARD Programme. Implemented since 2013 with a total budget of EUR 179.5 million, the main goal of ENPARD is to reduce rural poverty in Georgia. The first phase of ENPARD in Georgia focused on developing the potential of agriculture. The second and third phases of ENPARD focus on creating economic opportunities for rural population that go beyond agricultural activities. More information on ENPARD is available at: www.enpard.ge.
